The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the Male monarch is the soundtrack for the 2003 epic fantasy adventure flick of the same name. The soundtrack was composed, orchestrated, and conducted by Howard Shore, and performed by the London Combo Orchestra, the London Voices, and the London Oratory School Schola.[1] The soundtrack was released on 25 November 2003. The express edition contains a bonus DVD with the track "Use Well the Days" by Annie Lennox, song texts, photo gallery, and a Lord of the Rings trilogy supertrailer.
Overview [edit]
The score to Render of the Male monarch is the virtually expansive of the three: containing over 4 hours of finalized music, scoring near the unabridged flick length. It also musters the biggest staged forces, with sections calling for eight trumpets and a similar increment in the balance of the brass department, 2 timpanists, a mixed choir of 85 with additional singers for all-male and all-female parts, over fifty in the boy choir, various vocal soloists including soprano Renee Fleming and male child soprano Ben Del Maestro, and the full bands of celtic and eastern instruments returning from the get-go score. The score even uses a double fiddle, an musical instrument invented and crafted specifically for ane scene in the film. Shore also scored the trailer for the motion-picture show, which would somewhen be released with various alternating takes in the Rarities archive.
